The inaugural Finders Fair takes place in Fredericton, N.B. this month, promising to bring together vintage sellers, artisans and antiques lovers for what organizer Jacqueline Carr says is “more than a market.”

Over 40 local businesses will set up at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre on June 26 for a day of treasure hunting and style setting amid vintage furniture, clothing, jewellery, art, housewares, decor and food.

“The Finders Fair endeavours to showcase and appreciate the artistic and functional aspects of curated vintage and antique goods,” says Jacqueline, who owns vintage shop The Periwinkle House.

“It's an opportunity to highlight the artistic creations of talented artists and artisans in a participatory and engaging way. It's a place where guests and vendors can find a new experience and old/new treasures.”

The event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time, will feature an artistic, cross-vendor installation of vintage brass for sale.

The Finders Fair comes after a successful showing at Jacqueline’s first annual Vintage Spring Fling, which she hosted in Fredericton in April. More than 1,000 people stopped by to browse the wares of 14 vintage and antiques sellers, and vintage-inspired products by four local makers.

“I love connecting people to art and each other, and I like the idea of moving people from passive to active consumers in creative ways,” says Jacqueline.

Admission to the Finders Fair is a suggested donation of $2, with 100 per cent of proceeds donated to the Charlotte Street Arts Centre.
