Ed. note: This event has ended.
The fashion industry is in the midst of a revolution.

To build awareness and help resellers navigate this emerging industry, The ReLove Market and The Vintage Seeker have partnered on a weeklong virtual event that will:
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from already-established sellers in Canada about what’s been working for their business. Join us April 18-22, 2022!
Browse the agenda below!
Experienced vintage-, consignment- and secondhand-fashion resellers join an engaging and inspiring keynote panel discussion to discuss their “why,” their business challenges, and their tips and tricks for turning a profit in the resale market. Attendees will receive a guidebook containing secrets to success from resellers across the industry.
Joyce is the owner and founder of Joyce’s Closet, a Calgary-based consignment and dress rental boutique that she started nine years ago. She is also a wife and a mother to three young children who inspire and motivate her every day to show up and be her best.
Carlie Roberts is a curvy movement maker, leading women to a stylish place of self love and fashion confidence one consignment at a time.
She founded Consign Your Curves, Canada's largest size-inclusive consignment sale in 2013, and after adding to the closets of over 2,000 women, Carlie then turned her trending hashtag into a headquarters.
In 2018, she opened Consign Your Curves in Guelph, Ont., making her mission permanent for women from all over the world to experience at any time.
She's unapologetically herself and every day working toward making space for the women who don't get heard, who aren't given options and who deserve a fashion experience worthy of posting on Instagram.
Consign Your Curves focuses on retail and consignment for shoppers of the 12-32+ curvy community and is Canada's only 12-32+ consignment store.

Moderator: Kristina Urquhart, Editor, The Vintage Seeker | @the.vintage.seeker
Kristina is a Toronto-based editor and journalist who specializes in content strategy and development for niche audiences. She has extensive experience publishing business stories and hosting conferences for a variety of sectors including design, technology and industry.
A lover of vintage decor and fashion, Kristina launched The Vintage Seeker in 2021 to deliver resources and news on the Canadian resale market in a modern format to vintage and antiques dealers, independent resellers and their customers.
With the fashion resale market poised to grow exponentially over the next few years, standing out in a crowded marketplace is key to getting your brand noticed. But there’s also a symbiotic relationship to be created with other sellers that can help to boost your brand.
This workshop begins with a presentation on branding before attendees will complete an exercise and enjoy a group discussion about how to put their best brand foot forward—because successful resellers mean a stronger circular economy.
Caitlin Varrin is an Edmonton-based creative, vintage reseller and stylist. The co-founder of Lawless Vintage and Magic Hour Creative, she splits her time between pop-ups, photo shoots and collaborative projects.
A “Jill of many trades,” her focus is on photography, web design and video production. With a keen passion for brand identity, she loves relating and communicating — a multimedia storyteller.
As a collector and connoisseur of vintage clothing, Caitlin is drawn to styling and producing unique projects that call for magic. When she's not at the thrifts or behind a camera or screen, you can find her DJ-ing as a member of Edmonton's Night Vision music collective.
I’m Mackenzie Wavryk, CEO and founder of Upcycle Clothing Collective, a consignment and quality goods shop in Victoria BC.
From a young age, I had an eye for fashion and an enthusiastic work ethic. Growing up as a competitive figure skater has given me the drive to keep pushing the limits when it comes to my own dreams. It was a natural progression for me and my love of fashion to start selling my clothing through an online platform.
Going into business with a brick and mortar was a huge undertaking as I do not have any sort of higher education in that field. That being said, I have had great mentors along the way that have given me the opportunity to push myself in the business world. My mom and I initially started Upcycle, and she was an incredible support for me. She has since left the business but remains a huge outside support.
From there I have built a consignment system that has been accessible to all while creating a safe space to shop and celebrate individualism. Upcycle has changed so much since it started in 2019 and I have lots of great things coming; to say I am excited about the future is an understatement.
Moderator: Sarah Little, Creative Director & Founder, The ReLove Market | @therelovemarket
Sarah Little is the founder and creative director of The ReLove Market, a Premier Secondhand & Vintage Pop-Up Market that began in Calgary, Alta. and has since expanded to Victoria, B.C.
Over three years of working with the reseller community, Sarah has become dedicated to helping to grow the cyclical side of the fashion industry and offers support to new and existing resellers alike.
With a penchant for all things sustainability, Sarah’s focus is to help shift the narrative around what it means to shop secondhand and to provide guidance and opportunity to anyone wanting to join the global movement that is changing how we view the future of fashion.
Her belief in the power of community has helped ReLove foster a welcoming, supportive and inclusive environment. It continues to be a space where both personal and professional relationships are built and thrive.
Where’s the line between too much stock for a reseller and not enough? How do you avoid falling into the trap of overconsumption in secondhand selling? And how can you maximize the inventory you do have to give it the best possible chance of being re-loved?
One of the tenets of cyclical fashion is to follow the five Rs: rework, repair, repurpose, recycle and reduce. These presentations, followed by a panel discussion, explore how to base your fashion resale business on the cyclical fashion model, and gives practical tips on how best to employ the five Rs when it comes to managing your inventory.
Emilie Macphail Studio offers custom embroidery, garment repairs and handmade goods, in the heart of Chinatown, Calgary.
I am passionate about the world of textiles and aim to create unique customized garments that will become a special item in your wardrobe.
The rise of fast fashion has created a world where clothing is standardized, unoriginal and dispensable. At Emilie MacPhail Studio, my goal is to customize your garments with embroidery, painting, patchwork, visual alterations and/or visual repairs to make the item special and entirely unique to you, in a world where everything looks the same.
All pieces are handmade one at a time, from the drawing to the finished product. This means that every piece is unique and although it can be replicated, no two pieces will be the exact same.

Kez Garber founded Papa Love Vintage in March 2019. The Toronto-based shop is a curated selection of gender-free vintage with a focus on sustainability and zero waste.
Cris Herrera studied marketing and sustainable business strategy to learn how consumers think and behave, and how to help them make better decisions for the planet and the people working on it.
In 2021, Cris created Naturspired to spark systematic change that completely disrupts the current fashion industry.
Naturspired’s mission is to help fashion brands thrive while advocating for social change and creating a fashion future everyone can be proud of.
Brynn Pydde is the founder of B-Bot Clothing, which is all about upcycling and refashioning clothes with the goal to reduce textile waste and bring awareness to the extremely harsh impact that the clothing industry has on our planet and people alike.
All clothes and accessories are produced using secondhand-sourced materials and every last scrap of fabric is saved and used in other projects. They take unworn and unloved clothes and work some magic to turn them into something that will be loved for a long time.
A circular fashion system is possible if we are creative with what other people may deem as waste.
Stacey is the owner of CREAM Life + Style, a small shop in Victoria, BC filled with vintage, handmade and mindful goods. She believes that through vintage, pre-loved and handcrafted items we can create beautiful, sustainable homes and closets that encourage us to get creative and reflect our unique personalities.

We live in a world where consumers love to shop. Instead of trying to change people’s habits, resellers have the power to shape new ones by promoting the principles of cyclical fashion.
The message you want to send your customers should be at every touchpoint in your sales cycle, starting with your social media pages, which is where many people will first engage with your brand.
This workshop, hosted by a seller with a strong approach to social media strategy, shows how they’ve built and maintained their social media strategies, the tools they use to engage with their community, and how authenticity helps to solidify market position.
Grace Quinn is the owner of all things gq, a vintage curated clothing and sustainable styling shop that specializes in timeless, gender-neutral pieces for everyone to enjoy.

Now in 2022, Grace focuses on social media and content creating/planning for small businesses and entrepreneurs while running her own business full-time.
Grace's goal is to be one of the first Sustainable Stylists in Western Canada and to have her own storefront to offer curated vintage wear and sustainable styling services.
